Article pages make up the body of knowledge of Civicwiki.
Civicwiki contains many types of pages. A number of pages are created to help users navigate the site or understand how to contribute - such as Help pages or the About page. These are not articles in the sense we use it here.
An Article is edited or created by a registered user to add to the body of knowledge. Civicwiki provides a form for the creation of articles. This is to make it easier for users that are not familiar with wiki markup language to create and edit articles.
